About Dr. Spomenka
Newman
Dr. Newman is a licensed
psychologist providing high quality comprehensive services
to children and adolescents ages four to college years. Dr.
Newman specializes in gifted and creative children and
adolescents.
She provides a wide range of services from
psychological assessment and therapy, to work on specific
school related issues. Dr. Newman’s background in
educational and developmental psychology makes her uniquely
qualified to counsel families on a wide variety of issues.
She is available to provide specialized services
such as school observations, school consultations,
in-service training, help in differentiating curriculum or
developing an IEP for twice exceptional (2E) children,
providing documentation for standardized testing
accommodations for 2E children, and she can accompany
parents to school meetings.
Dr. Newman has successfully
advocated for educational services, curriculum
modifications, acceleration, early entrance, and
standardized testing accommodations for gifted and 2E
children and adolescents. She works with homeschoolers,
public and private schools, and serves families from all
over Georgia and neighboring states.
Dr.
Newman two doctoral degrees from the University of Georgia,
one in School Psychology and one in Gifted Education. Her
Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's degree in
School Psychology were earned from the University of
Ljubljana in Slovenia.
