e. How
should I prepare my child for the first day of
testing?

Having a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast
is the best way to start a day that may require more
mental energy than a typical day. Please make sure
that you arrive at least 10 minutes before the
session, stress generated when the family is late
for the testing appointment is often felt by the
child long after arrival. Arriving early will allow
time for transitioning and relaxing before the
testing. If the child wears eyeglasses, please make
sure to bring them with you. If the child takes
medication, please make sure that it is taken. If
the child does not feel well or complains of a tummy
ache, please inform Dr. Newman. If the child
comments on activities after the testing session,
please inform Dr. Newman about the comments.
