Frequently Asked Questions

3. Answers to Typical Questions

  f. What should I bring to testing?

Please bring a small nutritious snack and bottled water or another drink to consume during the ten-minute break that will be taken after the first hour of testing.  Many children will be hungry and will need to stretch and go out for a short walk.  Some children seek to be left alone and play quietly by themselves or read.  If you decide to stay in the office during the break, please do not allow the child to play video games or play on the cell phone.  It is often difficult to re-engage the child who is overstimulated by playing with electronics.  Dr. Newman may stay with you in the waiting room during the break and use the opportunity to observe your child in a more informal setting.
